Arthur William McLenna 1939-2018

 

Lowell, MA – Arthur William McLenna, Age 79, of Lowell, formerly of NorthChelmsford passed away on Monday August 13, 2018 at the Northwood Rehab and Health Care Center in Lowell after a long illness. Arthur was born on April 20, 1939 and was the son of Arthur William McLenna and Mary Rose (Benoit) McLenna. He grew up in North Chelmsford and attended Greater Lowell Vocational Technical High School. Arthur was the loving husband of Patricia (Villineau) McLenna with whom he celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 19th. He was employed by several companies including: Alexander’s Supermarket, Hannaford, and Sodexho Marriott Services.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. Arthur enjoyed vacations at the ocean and mountains, great seafood, cooking, bowling, and spending time with family and friends especially his grandson. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (McLenna) MacDonald and her husband Frank of Chelmsford as well as his beloved grandson Connor Mac Donald. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Geraldine (Villineau) Nagle of Lowell, Joan Villineau of Chelmsford, and Margaret (Villineau) MacDonald and her husband Peter of Alberta, Canada. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Barron of Lowell.

Family and friends will gather at Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St. Chelmsford for visiting hours on Thursday (8/16) from 3 to 7pm and a funeral Mass on Friday (8/17) at 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church in N.
