Leo Matthew Frawley Jr. of Tyngsboro formerly of Lowell

 

5628 Frawley Jr.Leo Matthew Frawley Jr. of Tyngsboro, formerly of Lowell died Friday Sept. 18, 2015 at the Lowell General Hospital.

He was married to the late Phyllis T. Frawley who died in 2008.

Born in Lowell he was the son of the late Leo M. and Mary A. (Rogers) Frawley. He attended Lowell public schools for 12 years.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He flew missions in China during the Burma and India Campaign.

He retired from GCA of Burlington, MA in 1989.

He was a member of the Tewksbury Rod and Gun Club. Leo enjoyed archery, photography, and fishing.

He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Lowell.

Leo is survived by his sisters Ruth Armstrong and Dorothy LeBourdais both of Tyngsboro. He is also survived by his brother in law Anthony DeProfio of Chelmsford and many nieces and nephews.  His longtime friend Ted and his wife Kathy Baker of Tewksbury.

Visiting hours Monday 3 to 6 P.M. Funeral Tuesday at 10am from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

    Just learning of Leo’s passing. I worked with Leo for many years at GCA. Not just a gentleman and a great conversationalist, but one of the most outstanding men I have ever known. I owe so much gratitude to all that Leo taught me about photography and much of life. His patience and kindness, sincere interest in so much of life will never be forgotten. RIP my gallant friend.
