Leo Robert Dunn of Westford

 

5811 Dunn YoungLeo Robert Dunn, 93, of Westford, died Wednesday June 8, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital.

He was married to the late Loretta (Shanahan) Dunn who died March 2, 2003.

Born in Lowell on April 22, 1923, he was the son of the late Romus and Grace (Mercier) Dunn.   He graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1941.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.

He retired from Wang Labs of Lowell in 1985. Prior to Wang he worked at Raytheon of Andover, MA.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.

He was a member of Nabnasset Country Club, American Legion AW Vinal Post 313.

He enjoyed tennis, golf, and dancing.

Leo is survived by his sons Leo G. Dunn, and Kevin R. Dunn, a sister in law, Rita Dunn, two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica, two great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a special friend Serafina Denaro, and Roger “Hack” Breton who is jokingly referred to as the third Dunn.

He was the brother of the late Raymond and Pete Dunn, Lillian Jacques, Jeanette Gagnon, and Dorothy Dunn.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Fairhaven Healthcare Center, Town and Country Nursing Home, and Lowell General Hospital.

No Visiting hours. A private graveside service at the Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford will be June 11, 2016. Memorials may be made in his name to a veteran’s organization of your choice. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.
