5824 Casale2M. Louise (Comeau) Casale, 88, of Chelmsford, MA died Sunday June 19, 2016 at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleon, MA.

She was married to Ralph Casale. Their courtship and marriage spanned nearly 70 years.

Born in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Alma Comeau. She graduated from Saint Clement's High School in Somerville with the Class of 1945.

Louise was retired from Bank of Boston of Burlington, MA. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the Eastern Company in Cambridge, MA.

She was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church of Chelmsford, MA, and later St. John's Church in North Chelmsford.

As a teen, Louise and her sisters sang three-part harmony at a radio station and were offered the opportunity to sing professionally. She was able to play the piano by ear and was also skilled in creative art.

In Chelmsford, Louise enjoyed involvement in St. Mary's Sodality, town meetings, school fundraisers (which she organized and created crafts for sale), bridge, and bowling. Louise had a bright smile and enjoyed striking up conversations. She was thrilled to find, in the suburbs, former Somerville neighbors, business owners, and parochial school classmates.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Lynne and her husband, Anatoly Chukhin of Rochester, NY; Neal and his wife, Michelle Casale of Bedford, NH; James " Jay" Casale of Ashburn, VA; and Laurie and her husband, Mark Doherty of Vail, AZ; a sister Joan Bryant of Salem, NH, brother-in-law Ernest Nali of Fort Mill, SC; and five grandchildren, Dmitriy Chukhin, Margarita Chukhina, Nicholas Casale, Dayton Casale, Ryan Casale; many nieces and nephews; and the children of her nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Lee Denise Casale of Chelmsford and the sister of the late Norman Comeau of Salem, NH, Eugene Comeau of Salem, Lorraine McKenzie of Weymouth, MA, Marie Flynn of Middleton, MA and Eleanor Nali of Kingston, MA.

Visiting hours Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Saturday at 8:00 from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at Saint Mary’s Church in Chelmsford. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Chelmsford. Memorials may be made in her name to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation or St. Clement's School.

    Your mom has a special place in mine and Dorothy’s heart. She was very comforting and supportive to us when we lost our son.
    Checking up on us numerous times afterwards. She was a very special lady and “Auntie” to us.
    May she rest in a much deserved peace.
