5727 BaterRobert “Bob” Bater, 72, of Littleton, MA, formerly of Westford, MA died Feb. 4, 2016 at his home after a long illness surrounded by his loving family.

He was married to Mary Bethel (Teague) Bater with whom he had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 21, 2015.

Born in Brighton, NY on August 9, 1943, he was one of thirteen children of the late Ralph and Mildred Bater. He was raised in Bergen, NY and graduated of Byron Bergen High School with the Class of 1961. He attended Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH.

During the Vietnam War, Bob served in the US Army attaining the rank of Specialist .

Bob worked as a Supervisor for Dow Chemical Co. in Nashua, NH before retiring in 2000. He was an avid NASCAR Fan.

He was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church of Littleton, MA.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sarah Coates of Littleton, MA; three grandchildren, Christopher Coates, Jeremy Coates and Kathleen McCarthy; two sisters, Dorothy Flanagan of Ball Ground, GA, June Ralston and her husband, Nelson of Bradenton, FL; his mother in-law, Mary (Sullivan) Teague of Springfield, MA and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Funeral Monday at 8:30AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Anne’s Church 75 King Street Littleton, MA.
