Thomas G. Sheehan Highly decorated Disabled Vietnam Veteran
He was the beloved husband of Jeannette (Parent) Sheehan.
Born in Lowell on March 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Jean (Sheehan) Maguire and the late John P. “Jack” Sheehan.
Tom served with the Army during the Vietnam Conflict (1965 - 67) receiving the Bronze Star with V Device for Heroism, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal Overseas Bar. He was honorably discharged in 1967.
He was a lifetime member of The Military Order of The Purple Heart, The 25TH Infantry Association Tropic Lighting Div. 2/27 Wolfhounds, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2007, West Palm Beach, FL, Paralyzed Veterans of America, The American Legion Post #141, West Palm Beach, FL. and a member of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 27TH Infantry Regiment Historical Society Inc.
A retired letter carrier, he worked in Concord, MA for over 30 years. A Member of Branch 25 of The National Association of Letter Carriers, a past Union Stuart of Concord, MA 01742, a past Board Member and Branch Treasure for 10 years having attended over 19 National Conventions around the country as a Representative for Branch 25 NALC. An avid golfer, he was a member of Long Meadow Golf Club and a member of the U.S. Bunting and Cricket Club.
Besides his wife Jeannie, he is survived by his son, Thomas G. Sheehan Jr. and his wife, Kristine, of Raleigh, NC; a daughter Bonnie L. Grenier, of Lowell, MA; Stepchildren, Brian and Julie Muldoon of Ayer MA and Thomas and Tami Muldoon of Townsend, MA; Five sisters, Jackie Nelson of West Palm Beach, FL, Patricia Nyman and her husband, Mark of Port St. Lucie, FL, Karen Quinn and husband, Marty of Londonderry, NH, Susan (DeJesus) Provencher and her husband, Dave of Port St. Lucie, FL and Debbie Hurley and her husband, Charles of Pelham, NH. His grandchildren, Zachary and Ashly Grenier, John Thomas Sheehan and step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sosnowski , Kaitlyn, Patrick, Shannyn, Shane and Deven Muldoon, Jaid and Shayla Hall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Wed 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Thursday at 10:00 a.m from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA. with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 at St. John the Evangelist Church Chelmsford, MA. Tom has requested to be buried with his comrades from Vietnam (1966) at Arlington National Cemetery.
