Thomas J. Bebbington of Tyngsborough


Thomas Joseph Bebbington, 84, of Tyngsborough died surrounded by his loving family early on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at D’Youville Senior Health Care in Lowell after an extended illness.

He was married to Ann Bebbington with whom he celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on July 27, 2017.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Mary A. Bebbington. He graduated from Essex Agricultural High School in Danvers and earned an Associate degree in Agricultural Science from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Cold War.

Thomas worked as a truck driver for UPS of Chelmsford for 36 years retiring in 1998. He was a loyal member of the Teamsters Union.

He was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church.

Thomas was a proud fifty year resident of Tyngsborough. He enjoyed time spent outdoors, especially in his garden.  He was also an avid bird watcher, photographer, stamp collector, and world traveler.

The family would like to thank the staff at the D’Youville Senior Health Center for their dedication and care they gave to him.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Thomas P. and his wife, Jenna Roberts of Durham, NH; daughter, Maura and her husband, Rob Calusdian of Londonderry, NH; brother-in-law, Jim Fenton of Limerick, Ireland; grandchildren, Miles Bebbington, Eva Bebbington, Garrett Calusdian and Aiden Calusdian and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours Wed. 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Thurs at 9am from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 10am at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Tyngsborough. Burial in Tewksbury Cemetery, Tewksbury.     Ann, I remember Tom with fond memories as I read his obituary this morning. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity that you and Tom provided me, my wife and children back in 1990.
