Linda M. Fleming, of Cape Neddick, ME, formerly of Chelmsford, MA died June 1, 2022 at the age of 72, surrounded by her loving family at her home.
She was the doting wife of George Fleming with whom she was to celebrate 53 years of marriage this July.
Linda was born in Cambridge, MA to the late Arthur and Dorothy Domings. She grew up in Waltham, MA, with her two brothers, the late, Arthur E. Domings and Robert Domings.
After graduating from Waltham High School in 1967, she went on to study fashion design in Boston and worked at Raytheon. Once married, she and her husband had two children that she stayed at home, to raise. She re-entered the work force to help support her children’s education. Linda and her husband retired to Maine in 2002.
Linda was a voracious reader and loved history. Her hands were rarely idle and truly loved utilizing her amazing creativity through sewing, quilting, and cooking. She had a sincere love of her faith, which brought her peace throughout her life. She enjoyed collecting sea glass and shells from the beaches with her grandchildren. She especially adored animals, would love greeting them on her walks and always kept “cookies” in her pocket, just in case.
Linda was very proud and “blessed” to be a stem cell transplant recipient and 2-time cancer survivor. She was always so keen to talk about her journey and help to educate others. She was also eternally grateful to her stem cell donor and the many people who have donated blood products to help keep her, and others, healthy over the years.
Besides her husband she is survived by her son, Christopher Fleming and his wife Pamela of Chelmsford; daughter, Stacey Christie and her husband William of N. Chelmsford; four beautiful grandchildren, Joseph, Davidson, Rachel Fleming and Leah Christie; brother, Robert Domings of Grafton, MA, and many close friends and neighbors.
