It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert T. Allaby of Lowell, MA. He died at the age of 74 on the evening of Tuesday May 9, 2023, in his home. Bob was born in Lowell, MA. He was the son of Frank and Mary (Mahoney) Allaby. He enjoyed playing sports in his youth and graduated with the class of 1967 from Lowell High School. Bob was married to Paulette (Cote) Allaby with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9th. Bob and Paulette met at 15 & 17 before he went to serve in the military. Upon returning, they both knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
They had four children; he spent his career at Flagship Press and is a member of St. John The Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. He was an avid golfer his entire life, enjoyed spending every Friday morning at The Owl Diner with his life-long friends, he was a New England sports fan and rarely missed watching the games. Most importantly, he loved his family immensely, especially his 11 grandchildren.
Besides his wife he is survived by his 4 daughters. Jacqueline and her husband Bill Minior of Merrit Island, FL., Coleen and her husband Peter Theobald of Ashburn, VA., Elizabeth Allaby of Athol, MA., and Michele Allaby of Haverhill, MA. His brothers Kenny, David, and Stephen Allaby. His grandchildren: Olivia, Joseph, Luciana, Emytt, Gracelyn, Devin, Alice, Noah, Bravelee, Reese and Brady. He is predeceased by his late brother Frank Allaby.

About 5. Minutes I am at peace

Paulette, so sorry for your loss. Haven’t seen you at daily Mass for some years (for obvious reasons, I realize), but I always remember talking to you in St. John’s parking lot about your delight in your grandchildren. I’m sure they’re growing fast, as children do, and you can continue to take delight in them even with Bob not around to share it with. Treasure your memories of him — and keep praying!
