Robert F. O’Brien, Sr., 81, of Holbrook, MA, formerly of Cambridge and Everett, MA, died Thursday June 8, 2023 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health.
He was married to Kathleen (O’Quinn) O’Brien.
Robert was born in Cambridge, MA on September 14, 1941 to the late William and Elizabeth (Rivers) O’Brien.
He graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School with the class of 1959.
Robert retired from the Army National Guard after 20 years of faithful service to his country.
He was a past member of the Elks Club Lodge 0839.
Robert was a laid back guy who loved to take long drives, watch the Red Sox and spend time with his loving family. Robert always had a smile on his face and enjoyed making people laugh.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Robert O’Brien, Jr. and his wife Gail of Dracut, MA and William and his wife Jennifer O’Brien of Reading, MA; his two daughters, Kimberly O’Brien of Everett, MA and Sheri O’Brien of Gardner, MA; his two brothers, Paul O’Brien and his wife Joanne and Kenneth O’Brien; his two sisters-in-law Annette and Janice; his nine grandchildren, Bobby, Olivia, Nolan, Ashley, Brennan, Cassie, Aiden, Kynadee, Tomi Ann; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William, David (Ronnie), Alan, and Cheryl; brother-in-law of the late Diane O’Brien, and father-in-law to the late Robert Allen Sr.

Visiting hours Friday June 16, 2023 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, N. CHELMSFORD, MA with a service to follow at 1:00PM. Daddy, I love you and this is a loss like no other I am thankful for all the times we did share like our Saturday fruit loop donuts for me and my kids your face when you opened your red Sox shirt you were always there for me when needed you you were far more than a dad you were my daddy and I’m so glad we I got to speak to you and let you know how much my kids and I loved you ❤️

Dad we are going to miss you too much to write but your granddaughters and your grandson the last one to hold the family name I’m just happy everybody got to see you before you went into the pearly Gates
