Maureen E. Altongy-Flynn of Chelmsford, MA

Maureen Elizabeth Altongy-Flynn, 84, of Chelmsford, MA died early Thursday morning, August 15, 2024 at the Belvidere Health Care Center in Lowell, MA.

She was married to the late Francis E. Flynn who died March 29, 2024 and the late Joseph G. Altongy who died May, 1992.

Born in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Tierney) Flynn.

She graduated from Whitesboro High School, Whitesboro, NY, with the class of 1958. She is a graduate of Oneonta College of NY with a Bachelor in Arts degree in Education.

She retired in 1996 from Chelmsford Public Schools; where she taught home economics at McCarthy Middle School.

As a devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford.

Maureen enjoyed travelling and shopping, and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Brian and his wife, Lori Altongy of Bolton, MA; her daughter, Michele AltongyHill and her husband, Richard Hill of Nashua, NH; three stepsons, Brendan and his wife, Kimberly Flynn of Lowell, MA, Christopher and his wife, Lori Flynn of Cypress, TX and David and his wife, Hearther Flynn of Seatle, WA; two step-daughters, Diane Sylvester and her partner, Damoso Reyes of Barcelona, Spain, Elizabeth and her husband, Nicholas Wolff of NYC, NY, and 7 grandchildren.
