Samoy Ong passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital. She was 87 years old.
Born in Cambodia, Samoy escaped the Khmer Rouge in 1982, bringing her young children to the United States as a single mother. She first settled in Portland, Oregon, and later made Lowell, Massachusetts, her home in 1988.
Samoy’s life in Lowell was filled with the warmth of family and friends. She had a passion for playing cards, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, whom she helped raise with endless love and care. Her home was always a place of comfort, joy, and delicious food, where everyone was welcome.
