Penelope Nicholas, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away on October 28, 2024. She was a proud member of her beloved Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Her message to all of her dear, dear friends is: She loved you all from her head to her toes, and she prayed for “our country to be great again.”
She was a true patriot who served at the Pentagon, guiding the families of our heroes who died with full military funerals. She then returned to Lowell and continued her service to protect our country by working at Raytheon in Lowell for 43 years.
Besides being an accomplished painter and author, she was also inducted into the International Library of Poetry. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Deneault of Nashua, NH, and Toni Nicholas of Lowell, MA, as well as five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services for Penelope Nicholas will be on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St, Lowell, MA 01854. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Boston Rd, Lowell, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Penelope’s name

One more thing I’d like to add here. Yes, my mom was a true patriot who served at the Pentagon. Yes, she guided families of our heroes and took care of our heroes with full military honors and burials, but when she came back to Lowell, she continued to serve while working at Raytheon. She was the Final Lead Inspector for the Missile Program at Raytheon and retired more than 25 years ago. I am so very proud of my mom and all of her accomplishments, and I will miss her greatly. Her grandchildren will also miss their Yiayia for her wisdom, her guidance, and her humor. May God wrap his loving arms around her, and may she rest in peace. I love you mom, my Angel.
