David Ferreira of Lowell, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Vieira) Ferreira. David attended Chelmsford Public Schools and enjoyed a dedicated 50-year career with Hudson Lumber, formerly Friend Lumber, where he continued to work part-time in retirement.
David enjoyed playing bass guitar in his band “The Red Coats” in high school, taking care of his car, playing the lottery, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was known for always sending holiday cards to family and friends.
David is survived by his children and their spouses: David and Julie Ferreira of Hackettstown, NJ; Buffy and Kenneth Doyle of Nashua, NH; Chad Ferreira and Tiffany Sands of Groton, MA; and Paula and Matthew Dalke of Wilmington, MA. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Julius Ferreira, Kendall Doyle, Paige Ferreira, Paxton Ferreira, Jacob Dalke, and Samuel Dalke; and his brother, Joseph Ferreira of Largo, FL.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert Ferreira, his sister Carol Christenson, his brother-in-law Earl Christenson, and his sister-in-law Jacqueline Ferreira.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 1-4PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, N. Chelmsford, MA. Funeral Monday, December 30, 2024 9AM at Dolan Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA.

I remember spending, as children, some summers together in Massachusetts. David was always gracious to his poor cousins from the anthracite collieries in northeastern Pennsylvania. What a beautiful man!

Sorry for your loss. I worked with Dave for over 30 years. In lowell and then in Hudson, he was a great guy. I hadn’t seen him in a while.as I have moved south.he will be missed.
