May 18, 2017Diane Christine Nicholson, 56, of Dracut, died Tuesday May 9, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She fought a long courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph Milot and Theresa Ann (Pelletier) Milot.
Diane attended Westford Academy. She married Ronald Nicholson at the age of 18 and starting working and living in the Lowell area. She enjoyed working with people.
She has been a Dracut resident for over 20 years. She was a proud President of the Long Pond Park Improvement Association, and took pride in taking care of the public beach.
She was a former communicant of St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish in Dracut.
Diane loved the holiday’s especially Christmas. She had an undying love for her son Brad Nicholson of Dracut.
Besides her son, she is survived by her step daughter, Michelle Mogeilnicki of Hudson, NH; sisters, Deloris Neadeau of Lowell, and Maryanne Alhamdany of ME; her longtime partner, Kenny Vallios of Dracut and his family, Diane’s extended family: son, Ryan Vallios of Dracut; grandson, Patrick Vallois; Step mother, Eileen Ring of ME; extended sister, Cheryl Dumont of ME; extended brothers, Michael Currier of AL, James and Richard Currier of ME, Paul Hutton of ME, and Matthew Hutton of SC; many nieces, and nephews especially Joan Mosier.
Celebration of her life will be Thursday May 18th from 4-8PM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Diane will be laid to rest with her father in Eastern Cemetery, Gorham Maine on Saturday, May 20th. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the local cancer society of your choice. You were the best Memere to my grandson Patrick Vallois! He will never forget you, you will live on through your grandchild who brought you great happiness Diane. The DVD has come out perfect he is going to watch it all the time with your message of love and support for years to come along with the pictures of joy and happiness you gave him.
