Constance “Connie” (Pereira) Murray, 89, of Chelmsford, MA died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home.
She was married to the late George M. Murray, who died on May 18, 2014.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Philomena Pereira.
Connie worked as an assembler for the Gillette Company of Andover, retiring in 1989. In her early years, she worked at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Connie was a longtime resident of Chelmsford and a summer resident of Milton, NH. She enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, and spending time at the ocean and her lake house. Connie was a dog lover and breeder.
Connie was the matriarch of her family and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Murray-Barker of Groton; one sister, Rita Belida of Chelmsford; three grandchildren, Michael Barker of Groton, CT, Megan Barker of Chelmsford and Jessica Barker of Middleton, RI and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Kevin Murray of Portland, ME, who died on January 13, 1990 and the sister of Antonio Pereira of Dracut.
Visiting hours Fri. 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Sat. at 8A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9A.M at St. Mary’s Church. Burial in the Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. So sorry to learn of Connie’s passing…..Remember her and your dad fondly……My mom & step-dad Flo & Eddie O’Shaughnessy spent much time with them locally and at the Camp in years long gone….Only last year I was at your Dad’s Wake, now their together for eternity…..But for now may she rest in peace…… Bob McInnis
