Dear Patenaude Family – it is with so much respect and adoration that I offer my sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Patenaude. Our families haven’t interacted much these past oh 20 years I’m afraid. But I always think of you all fondly and there’s a house in Rye with your name on the mailbox and I always wonder if it’s anyone of the Patenaude’s I know 🙂 Mr. Patenaude was a wonderful man with a terrific smile and a true sparkle in his eye – maybe that’s because whenever we would meet we would talk about his family or his new grandchild or a great-grandchild that was on the way! We talked about Eric sometimes too – mostly about how he was my first “boyfriend” and how time keeps passing. I know Mr. Patenaude and Eric raced into each other’s arms when father and son were finally reunited. The joy of that moment is overwhelming. I have the postcard he made of the Old Man in the Mountain from NH before and after it fell – I just came across it again this week. Well, I’m sitting at my desk at work with tears on my cheeks so I should end this – but I hope you are all well and I believe you’ll get my email from here if you want to reach out.

    Heartfelt Condolences and Deep Respect,
    Ulli

  18. Maureen Chase says:

My deepest sympathy goes out to my cousin Leo’s loving family. If I were still local to Chelmsford I would have been with you all but I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico where I’ve been living for a year now. It is from here where I send loving and comforting thoughts. Leo was a wonderful photographer and we were both members of the Arts League of Lowell where we both had photographic exhibits. I remember helping him hang his superb photographs of Italy at one of the exhibits. Everyone loved them. Whenever I saw him he would get out his computer and show me his latest gems. Leo, Theresa and their family would come over to my parents’ (Alyce and Leon Chase) house every Easter in their best Easter duds many years ago. Even though I didn’t see Leo very often later in life I will miss him greatly…Theresa, you and Leo were my favorite Patenaudes. With much love to the whole family, please keep in touch. I’m sure Leo is taking photos wherever he may be, with the aid of the divine Winged Ones. You are all in my prayers…love, Maureen

  19. Nancy C. Hand says:
