Kerry (McGrath) Mellen (, beloved wife, mother, nannie, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, on March 22nd, 2025, at the age of 49.
Kerry was born in Lowell, MA, on May 5th, 1975. She was the daughter of the late Laurence and Helen (Bradley) McGrath.
She graduated from Lowell Vocational High School with the Class of 1994.
She married the love of her life, Richard Mellen, on November 4, 2001, and together they built a life full of love and laughter, facing all challenges that came their way as a team.
She always went above and beyond for her husband and children, caring for their every need, her love never wavering no matter the circumstances.
She proved herself to be a wonderful, generous, and dedicated mother to her three children, who she loved with her whole heart: Shaelyn Mellen, Kierra Mellen, and Braedyn Mellen.
As her children became adults, she became their best friend, advisor, and confidante. One of her greatest qualities was to encourage them to make the best of everything and to face their problems head-on.
Kerry recently became a grandmother to two grandbabies: Maisie Belanger and Beau Belanger, and she was absolutely thrilled about her family growing even bigger.
Although she only had a few short years with them, they were filled with an abundance of love, laughter, and memories to be cherished forever. She will always be in their hearts and minds for the rest of their lives.
She will also be severely missed by her sisters, Patricia (McGrath) Chevalier and her husband Barry Chevalier, and Lori (McGrath) Coupal and her husband Andre Coupal. Along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and all the lives Kerry touched in her short 49 years on this earth.
She is predeceased by her sister Sheryle (McGrath) Brodeur.
She found joy in trips to Disney World with her family, camping, lazy days at the lake, tubing down rivers, crafting, hosting various parties, and shopping for her loved ones.
She always made it a point to surround herself with her friends and family, which is where she was happiest.
Kerry led a life marked by love, dedication, and a spirit that touched all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Kerry’s generosity and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
