Alfred J. Kinney entered eternal rest on May 8, 2023 at home with his family by his side after a

courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lowell on February 20, 1954, son of the late

Milton and Dorothy (Ramsay) Kinney.

Al was extremely proud serving his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam era

and spent time in Thailand, Laos, and Japan. His favorite quote was “Once a Marine, always a

Marine”

He worked for various paving companies throughout his life previously owning Kinney Trucking

and Alco Paving Co. He was passionate about animals and you never knew what Al would

bring home. His current herd included dogs, goats, chickens, ducks and birds. He could usually

be found on the front porch or “in his office” with his coffee, a cigarette and a tall tale to tell that

usually included “having one good one left in him”.

Al is survived by his fiance of 22 years, Sandra Gervais and says she was the love of his life.

He is also survived by his children Christopher and Courtney Kinney; his siblings and their

spouses, Diana (Wes) Beckwith, Ronald (Shirley) Jacques, Brenda (Bob) Leclair, Robert

(Marcie) Kinney, Anna (Mark) Corey, Robin Chaisson, Scott (Martha) Kinney, Francis (Nicole)

Kinney, Ronald (Maureen) Kinney and Mark (Charlene) Kinney. As well as sisters in law Joyce

Kinney and Kathy (Bob) Nelson. He is also survived by Sandie’s children, whom he considered

his family, Danielle and her husband Robert Plourde and their daughter Kaylee, JoJo Gervais

and her fiance DJ Weingarten. As well as 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his children Jamie Lynn, Shawn and Patrick Kinney and siblings Charlotte

(Kinney) (Humphrey) Reed, Milton Kinney, Richard Kinney and John Kinney.

His most cherished times were in the barn or weekly trips to Tractor Supply with Kaylee. He

enjoyed teaching her about their animals. He had a special bond with Kaylee and loved being

her Papa Kinney.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 3-7PM at Dolan Funeral Home, Chelmsford, MA. Funeral Tuesday, May 16, 2023 12:00 Noon at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization of your choice that

supports Veterans or animals.
