Alousious Peter Wennah Sr. of Lowell, MA

Alousious Peter Wennah Sr., 63, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Arnes Smith, with whom he shared a devoted marriage since May 22, 1998.

Born in Suakoko, Liberia, Alousious was the cherished son of Flomo Wennah and Nowai Varnnah.

He made the journey to the United States in 1986, where he later became a proud U.S. citizen. Alousious was a lifelong learner, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Audrey Cohen College in New York. He furthered his education at Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Education with a minor in Psychology.

Alousious dedicated his professional life to serving others. He was a special education teacher at Greenhalge Elementary School in Lowell and also worked at Vinfen Human Services of Lowell. His earlier career included service at the Department of Children and Families, where he impacted countless lives with his compassion and expertise.

A man of deep faith, Alousious was an active member of Christ Jubilee Church of Lowell, where he found strength and community.

In addition to his loving wife, Arnes, Alousious is survived by his son, Alousious Wennah Jr., and his daughter, Nowai Wennah, both of Lowell, MA. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Nina Hubbard and Amos Kossigbo of Lowell, MA, Hadiatu Koroma of Hudson, NH, and Tellewo Acqui and her fiancé Tenekay Johnson of Plymouth, MN; his sister, Gledy Wennah of Liberia; eight step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Alousious Peter Wennah Sr. will be remembered for his dedication to education, his love for his family, and his steadfast faith.
