Ann Marie Hurley, 75, a longtime resident of Maine, passed away Thursday, December 19, at Maine Memorial Hospital in Portland.
Born in Spokane, WA on December 7, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Alvin L and Marjorie (Adams) Hurley. She grew up with her brothers and sisters in Sacramento CA, Cleveland OH, Erie PA, and West Hartford CT before moving with her parents to Centerville and Hyannis MA. She spent the last 33 years of her life in Maine, principally in the towns of Lewiston, Brunswick, Bowdoinham, Augusta, Portland, and Westbrook.
She was educated in the West Hartford School system and graduated from West Hartford High School. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in fine arts at Canisius College in Buffalo NY and at the University of Maine.
Ann was a devout Catholic and a gifted artist, working principally in silk screen and charcoal sketches. She loved animals, particularly horses, fishing, camping, and the great outdoors.
Miss Hurley is survived by her brother, James Hurley of Secaucus, NJ., her sister, Patricia Precobb and husband William of Chelmsford, MA., four nephews, William, Andrew and Timothy Mahoney all of greater Hartford, CT., and John Precobb of Wrentham, MA., three nieces, Elizabeth Burns of Manchester, NH., Theresa Mahoney of Granby, CT., Carol Newman of Alamo, CA and her best friend Wendy Morgan of Westbrook Maine.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church 115, Middlesex St., N. Chelmsford, MA 01863.
