Ann (Smithson) Jenkins, 69, of Westford, MA died peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA.
She was married to the late Ernest F. Jenkins Jr., who died on September 10, 2014.
Born in Batley, England, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Edna Smithson. Ann was educated in England and attended the Fox School of Commerce. She moved to the United States in 1966 and became a citizen.
Until her retirement, she spent the majority of her professional career as the Executive Assistant to the Founder and CEO of Digital Equipment Corporation of Maynard, MA.
After retiring, Ann enjoyed playing golf, was a member of the Groton Golf Club and was a dedicated volunteer at the Emerson Hospital in Concord. She greatly enjoyed her time with her many friends at both places.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Pamela Jenkins of Tyngsboro, MA and Ernest Jenkins III of Hudson, MA; two step children, David and his wife, Kathy Jenkins of Gardner, MA and Donna Jenkins of Dracut, MA as well as six grandchildren, Kimberly Jenkins, Joshua Jenkins, Ethan Jenkins, Anika Jenkins, Spencer Jenkins and Michael Jenkins.
At her request there are no visiting hours. Private burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Westford. Memorials may be made in her name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

Ann was a wonder! I worked at Digital and had many lunches with Ann in the Conference Room at the Mill when Ken was away. She was down to earth, always interested in your life, family and work. I last saw her at Emerson Hospital where she was volunteering at the front desk. Even after many years she recognized me and gave me a warm hug. Such a loss…..my sincere condolences to her family.
