Ban Thuong, 75, of Lowell, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at home.
Ban was born in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia on September 9, 1946. He came to the United States on September 30, 1983 and became a US Citizen in 1988.
Ban was an educator. He was multilingual in Khmer, English, French, and Thai.
In Cambodia, Ban served in the Military as an Aircraft Instrument Maintenance and Transporter. His joy and passion was to fix military airplanes and see them fly. Through Ban’s love and passion for the military, Ban continued to be of service to the military by donating and supporting his money to the Disabled Veterans, Homeland Security for the United States, and supporting politicians to name a few.
At home Ban enjoyed watching the news on the world military affairs, researching military aircrafts, and watching military-related movies. He enjoyed going to see Air Shows. Some of Ban’s favorite books are The Constitution of the United States of America along with the Declaration of Independence, and Military Airplanes.
He was married to Yary Ouk. Besides his wife Ban is survived by his son, Kimlong Ban of Dracut; daughters Phen Ban of Lowell, MA; Denise Phon Ban and her husband Sambath EangLee of Harvard, MA; Phear Ban and her husband Tholl Chin of Lowell, MA; Kea Ban and her husband Bunthoeun Chhoeung of Groton, MA. Ban had eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Ban Thuong will be remembered as a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
FUNERAL SERVICE
- MONDAY, January 31, 2022. Visiting hours from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Dolan Funeral Home, N. Chelmsford, MA. Funeral.
- TUESDAY, February 1, 2022 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral procession to Merrimack Crematory, Merrimack, NH.
RECEPTION: 11:00 A.M. at Simply Khmer Restaurant, 26 Lincoln St., Lowell, MA.
