Barbara Joan Chattley; beloved mother of Victoria, Robert, Cindy, and Laurie

Barbara Joan Chattley, 89, of Lowell, MA passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Beulah (Pinkerton) Bush. Barbara graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1951.

Some of the things that she enjoyed most were working around her house and gardening. Barbara had a great love for all animals but especially cats. She took in countless strays, cared for them, and would place them in new homes. Barbara also volunteered at Willow Manor Nursing Home for close to fifteen years where she was loved by all the residents. Her family will remember her as a strong-willed woman who had a remarkable memory for details in regards to the people closest to her. There was never a birthday or accomplishment that went by without her acknowledgement.

She is survived by her son Robert L. Chattley Jr., of Lowell, MA, her three daughters; Victoria Fox of Chelmsford, MA, Cindy Canavan of North Carolina, and Laurie Maalouf of Lowell, MA, her ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and her several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the sister of the late John Bush and Elizabeth Senior.
