Bessie C. (Sawers) Llewellyn, 96, of Chelmsford died Saturday morning, March 20, 2021 at D’Youville Sr. Care in Lowell.
She was married to the late Alfred “Ken” Llewellyn who died April 13, 2000.
Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie (Turner) Sawers, and was the last of 10 children. She attended the Lowell school system.
Over the years, she had worked at the Booth Mills, C.B.S. Electronics, Head Start, as a Presser at the Custom Coin Laundry Mat, and St. Joseph’s Hospital cafeteria all were located in Lowell.
She was a member of First Church Nazarene of Lowell and president of the Mary Martha’s Society. In the past, she had taught Sunday school for over 25 years; she was a Deaconess and on the Missionary Board at the Immanuel Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Chelmsford Senior Citizen’s Club.
She is survived by three daughters and son in laws, Doris Peoples of Virginia Beach, VA, Susan and Allan Michaud of Lowell, and Cynthia and Joseph Miskell of N. Chelmsford; a son and daughter in-law, Kenneth and Cheryl (Gauthier) Llewellyn of Nashua, NH; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
Bessie was the mother-in-law to the late Gerald Peoples.
Visitation will be Fri. from 10 to 11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford. Burial in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, MA. Memorials may be made in her memory to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1195 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854. What a special lady Mrs. Llwellyn was. She had such a big heart…she touched my life and so many others. ❤️ She is home now with her Lord.

Bessie was such a blessing to so many especially to her Sunday school children and their parents. I wish we could be there for the funeral but we will be there in spirit.
