Carolina Theresa (Ferreira) Christenson, 86, of East Chelmsford, MA died late Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Atrium at Drum Hill surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Earl Christenson who died April 23, 2003.
Born in Kingston, PA on December 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Viera) Ferreira. She graduated from Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1954.
In her early years, she worked in the Chelmsford Public Schools as a teacher’s aide in the South Row and McCarthy schools. She later worked at Digital Corp. in Nashua, NH and Littleton, MA for 18 years before retiring in 1998.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford. She held memberships in the Friends of Chelmsford Senior Center.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Christenson of Londonderry, NH, Maureen Christenson of Nashua, NH, and Judith and her husband, Gerrett Durling of Groton, MA; two brothers, Joseph Ferreira Jr. of Largo, FL, and David Ferreira of Lowell, MA; six grandchildren, Brian Perkins and his partner, Sara Kimber, Meredith Kane and her partner, Riley Johnson, Mackenzie Kane and her partner, Garrett Rigney, Jeremy Durling, and Jessica Durling and her partner, Kenya Welsh, Mary Durling and her partner, Sean Ryan; three great grandchildren, Beka and Kofi Welsh and Olivia Perkins, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Carol was the sister of the late Robert Ferreira of New London, NH, and the sister-in-law to the late Jacqueline Ferreira.

Visiting hours are Thurs., July 20, 2023 from 4 to 7pm at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Fri., July 21st at 11am at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd. Chelmsford, MA. Please meet at church. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. I am extremely sad to hear about Carol . She was so great to me and an awesome person I used to see her every morning at my 2 schools and very often at her mo and dad’s house.
