Carolyn M. Chabot, 84, of Westford, MA died Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Boston, MA, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Normandy) Farley. After graduating from Lowell High School with the class of 1957, Carolyn moved on to some college courses before starting a family.
At a young age she was very ambitious, having bought a car & a property in Westford prior to meeting her husband, Art Chabot, on a blind date. Carolyn and Art replaced her small camp house with a larger house in which to raise their 3 children.
Carolyn enjoyed reading and loved poetry, and had some of her own poetry published. An avid environmentalist, she enjoyed planting native trees and flowers in her yard, feeding birds and observing local wildlife. She loved to cook, enjoyed entertaining, going out with friends and spending time with her family. For many years Carolyn volunteered at the Westford Senior Center.
She is survived by her son Arthur and his wife Michelle Chabot of Lunenburg, MA, her son Jonathan Chabot of Westford, MA, and her daughter, Catherine and her husband Robert Roda of Bethel CT, by three grandchildren, Bobby, Laura, and Ian, by her brother John Farley and his wife Karen of Pelham NH, by her sister, Joan Waters of Winchendon MA, and by several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was the sister of the late Frederick Farley, the late Christine Fouts of Florida and the late Phyllis Kitner.
She was preceded in death by Arthur A Chabot Jr, who passed away on January 11, 2018.
