Chanly Eap, 100, of Tyngsboro, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell.

She was born in Battambang, Cambodia the daughter of the late Koan Eap and Kimleng So. Chanly owned a pharmacy business up until 1975 prior to enduring the sufferings and loss of family members during the Khmer Rouge regime between 1975-1979. She escaped Cambodia with her family to refugee camps in Thailand. She came to the United States as refugee in August of 1981.

Mrs. Eap became a US citizen and, in her free time, she enjoyed gardening, volunteered at the temple “Wat Lynn” (Wat Sangkhikaram) in Lynn, MA. She will be remembered as a family person and a devoted Buddhist.

She had eight siblings, 3 brothers and five sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Svang Tor of Tyngsboro, MA, a sister Houy Koan of Brockton, MA, a grandchild, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to her calling hours on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, MA. Please keep in mind, social distancing and Covid-19 restrictions are still in effect. Her funeral will be at the funeral home starting at 8:00AM on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
