Clara Johnson Attia, 76, of Lowell, MA and formerly of Ft. Worth, TX died Monday, November 2, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late James W. Attia, Sr in 1969 who predeceased her. Clara later married the late Alfred Wilson in 2017, who predeceased her also.
Born in Monrovia, Liberia the daughter of the late Carnie Johnson and Suzanna Tull. Clara received her Associates Degree and became a US Citizen.
Clara was an ordained Minister of God and founder of United Christian Ministries Church and United Christian Ministries Institute In Gardnersville, Somalia Drive, Behind the Nigerian Shop in New Georgia, Monrovia, Liberia-West Africa. Clara also founded and supported an Orphanage on Grand Bassa Highway, Liberia.
She was the Director-General of the Bureau of General Accounting, Ministry of Finance for more than a decade before migrating to the United States of America. She worked with and later retired from Bridgewell Agency of Massachusetts and previously worked with Life Links of Chelmsford.
She was a member and Assistant Pastor of Look To The Word Ministry of Lowell, MA. Clara got married to the Late Alfred Wilson in and joined the Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ Church in Ft. Worth, TX. Clara was a member of the Liberian Assoc. of Merrimack Valley.
Clara is survived by her daughters Barbara Dean Amodu; Yvonne Hoggard-Kamara (Mamadee Kamara); Clara Deakonti Attia; Neijay Attia-Slewion (Stephen Slewion); all of Lowell, MA; and Crystal Sayea Attia of Ft. Forth, TX,; Sons Alonzo W. Hoggard also of Ft. Worth, TX and James W. (Ruthie Greene Attia) of Creson, RI. Sixteen (16) grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, six (6) brothers, five (5) sisters, a host of many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and her childhood friend/sister Margaret S. Johnson.
Preceding her in death were her children Baby Edwin Teconbla Attia and Yoland Naomi Hoggard; her mom, Suzannah B. Tull and dad, Carnie Johnson, Sr. among others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation will be on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 8-9 a.m. and her funeral from 9 to 11 a.m. at Christ Jubilee Church, 101 Smith St., Lowell, MA.
