David Emerson Often, 50, of Lowell, MA died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was married to Elizabeth “Libby” Often with whom he celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on August 17, 2016.
Born in Lynn on April 17, 1966, Dave graduated from Austin Preparatory High School in Reading with the Class of 1984. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from University of Lowell.
Dave loved computers and most recently worked as a web designer. He was previously employed as a data analyst at Staples, Inc. and The TJX Companies. In his early years, Dave was a DJ at the WJVL and WUML radio stations.
Besides his wife, Dave is survived by his two sons, Hunter and Andrew; mother Mary Often of Lincoln, NH; father David Davenport and his wife Mary Ellen of Newton, NH; brother Matthew Often and his wife Laura of Grafton, MA; brother John Often of San Francisco, CA; brother Mark Davenport of Redondo Beach, CA; sister Danielle Emerson of Newton, NH; sister Katrina Quinonez of Lynn, MA; in-laws Nels and Margaret Palm of Tyngsborough, MA; dear friend Paul Gerry of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews. David was the son of the late John R. Often Jr.
A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via www.dana-farber.org/gift Friends are invited to join in remembering Dave at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 26 at 3 PM at The Old Worthen, Worthen St., Lowell, MA.
