Denise Rita Pare, 73, of Lowell, MA passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was the beloved wife to Albert Pare with whom she would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 13, 2024.
Born in Lowell, MA, she was the first child to arrive for the late Rene R. Brouillette and Rita Bechard.
She graduated from Lowell High School, Lowell, MA, with the class of 1967. Soon after marrying Al and deciding to live in Lowell and start their family. She was a communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Church.
Denise held numerous jobs that allowed her to be a wife and mom first and would always find something to enjoy about them all. Her final job was her favorite, she began a career as a front office secretary at Lowell High School where she would make many new friends and be lucky enough to work with already established friends. She retired in 2015. She was part of the “old school” generation of wives and homemakers, where dinner was on the table every night of the week and the house was always in order. Whether it was pride, nervous energy, or nicotine Denise had endless amounts of energy to clean and do laundry. If you wore a shirt and it got dirty on Monday? You could bet the stain would be gone and it would be folded on your bed by Tuesday. When she did take a breath or time for herself her favorite place would be on a beach on a cloudless day. Or laying in her pool on a float with a delicious ice tea (but in the shallow end because she couldn’t swim). She was given the nickname “Dooms Day” (After the famous 60” Dallas Cowboy defense) by her football loving husband for her amazing ability to spread dread on a wide variety of subjects. If it was going to snow? “We were getting buried” If there was a sporting event? “Oh, jeez they are gonna lose” and also her ability to put an end to “get togethers” her family would have by shutting lights, wrapping food and locking doors quite often while people were still sitting in her living room. Later in life she enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with her best bud Fitzy.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Christine L. Pare and her son Cole of Lowell, MA, her son, Scott and Christine (Landry) Pare and their children Brady, Brock & Lacey of Lowell, MA, her mom Rita living in Lowell, MA, her sister, Diane and Robert McLeod of Lowell, MA, her brothers, Robert Brouillette and Karen of N. Hampton, NH, David Brouillette and Peetze of Petaluma, CA, and Gary Blouin of Lowell, MA, a brother-in-law, Dennis and his wife, Beverly Pare of Lowell, MA , a sister-in-law, Laurie Menard of Palm Beach Fla, and many nieces and nephews.

My sincere sympathy to Denise’s family. I also knew her from LHS, where she was a fixture in the main office. Denise was honest, direct, and funny, and I usually left the office smiling at something she had said. May many good memories help ease your sadness.

I am so terribly sad to learn of Denise’s passing. She was such a wonderful neighbor, and I was happy to have a great visit with her at her “new” place not that long ago. My deepest sympathies to all the family. She loved you all so much, and the joy at the many backyard pool parties over all those years was full of your love for her. She will be deeply missed.
