Doris Louise Belanger, 84, a life-long resident of Lowell, died Friday December 9, 2016 at Palm Center, Chelmsford.
She was the beloved wife of Donald C. Belanger, with whom she celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past October 7th.
Doris was born on January 22, 1932 in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late Jovite A. and Blanche A. LaJeunesse. She graduated Lowell High School with the class of 1950.
Doris was a crossing guard for Lowell for over 18 years. She worked as a real estate broker since 1974, at ERA Morrison Real Estate and ERA Renaissance, both of Lowell. Doris owned and operated Doris Daycare in Lowell.
She was a member of the Greater Lowell Real Estate Board.
Besides her husband she is survived by her son, Randy Richards of McKinney, TX, Scott and his wife, Jill Richards of Chelmsford, daughters, Donna and her husband, Robert Adams of Hudson, MA, Jan Gallagher and her husband, Fred of Chelmsford, Brenda and her husband, James Stewart of Nashua, NH, three stepchildren, Sharon Demers of Dracut, Donald G. and his wife, Pam Belanger of Derry, NH, and Linda Goff of Lowell, 25 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Roberts of Lowell, who died in 2011, and a sister, Virginia Gaudette also of Lowell, who died in 2011 as well. She is also predeceased by a daughter in law, Maureen Richards who died in 2015.
