Dorothy L. (Parent) Kecy, 95, of Chelmsford, MA died Monday, January 12, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was married to Harold E. Kecy with whom she celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 19, 2014. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Philias and Albina Parent. She attended the Lowell School System. Dorothy owned and operated the Glenview Lounge in Chelmsford with her husband for over twenty five years. They previously owned and managed the industrial property in Lomar Park in Pepperell.
In her early years, she worked at the Robert Leonard’s Dress Shop and later managed the Lobster Cot on John Street and the Ballroom at the Marlboro Hotel. She was a member of All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Chelmsford, MA. Dottie had many wonderful girlfriends. She summered many years in Winnipesauke, NH, and wintered in Naples, FL with many dear friends. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Gervais of Chelmsford, three grandsons, Gregory, Brian and Garret Gervais all of Chelmsford, a great grandson, David and many nieces and nephews including Michael Mason of Florida and Morris Parent of Maine. She has also been cared for by her village including Jenny Meshna, Sarah LaRoche, Janet, Madelyn, and Marie, who will sadly miss her so much. She was the mother-in-law of the late Gary Gervais of Chelmsford.
Wake Thurs. 10AM to 2PM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST., N. CHELMSFORD. A private Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial in the Lowell Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials may be made in her name to the Ronald McDonald House, 229 Kent St., Brookline, MA 02446. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.
