Dorothy L. (Husted) Stys, 74, of Lowell died Thursday January 7, 2016
at the Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center after a period of declining health.
She was the wife of the late Leonard Stys.
Born in Bridgeton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Paul M. and
Laura (Stratton) Husted. She was raised in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts and graduated from Westford
Academy with the Class of 1959. She attended Lowell State College.
A longtime resident of Lowell, Dorothy worked for the Internal Revenue
Service in Andover as a Tax Examiner.
Dorothy loved all animals but especially horses and cats. She fed and rescued many strays while in Lowell. For those that wish, Memorials may be made to

She is survived by two brothers, Paul Husted and his wife Gillian of
Tyngsboro, MA, Carl Husted and his wife Nancy of N. Chelmsford; a
sister, Pauline Mellen and her husband, Christopher of Tyngsboro, MA;
and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her three beloved cats Blondie, Beauty and Ryleigh. Dorothy was also a body donor at BU School of Medicine as she saw the need for this one last gift.
