Elizabeth Jean (Cervone) Verruso passed away in Billerica, Massachusetts on May 5th 2023 following a lengthy period of declining health. She passed away peacefully with her daughter Sharie Webber by her side.
Born in Bridgeport, CT on March 30th 1947 as the youngest daughter of Louis Cervone and Elizabeth (Bessie) Massaria. Elizabeth grew up in Fairfield and Monroe CT with her five siblings. She was a member of the graduating class of Roger Ludlow High School in 1966.
Elizabeth was a very family-oriented person who loved to laugh, tell jokes, entertain guests and to spend time with family and friends. Her vivacious personality and sharp mind guided her well in the two businesses she owned: The Village Pharmacy in Fairfield, CT from 1970-1978 and later, L & E Distributors in Manchester, VT from 1982 until her retirement in 2014.
Elizabeth loved to get in the car and explore, especially along the coast of Maine where she would often spend time painting or writing and enjoying quiet time with her late husband, Luciano Verruso. Her greatest joy however, came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Kenneth and his wife Brenda Verruso of Augusta, Maine, her daughter, Sharie Webber and Stephen Williams of North Billerica, Massachusetts, former son- in- law, Mark Webber and 4 grandchildren, Ethan Webber, Maxwell Webber, Cameron Verruso, and Matthew Verruso. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Louis Cervone Jr and his wife Joyce of Shelton, CT, Michael Cervone and wife Doreen, of Bakersfield, CA and sister Rosalie Phillips and her husband Joseph of Fairmont, WV, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Leonard Cervone and Josephine Doyle.

My Memories of Aunt Betty-
I spent the summer with her when I was 12. First time away from home. She took me to eat Chinese and it was my first time eating Chinese. She loved to feed the people she loved. My husband remembers her making table rounds at your wedding and telling us to “eat, eat!” She had the most giving, generous spirit. She was always sending care packages to my mom with things she needed and some extra things for fun and just things to make you feel special. She cared for my mom like no one else. She was extremely loyal to her family. Her sense of humor was big and laugh contagious. She made everyone feel at home and welcomed.

Dear Ken and Sharie,
I have such fond memories of our trips to Connecticut and Vermont to visit “Aunt” Betty along with a great dinner cruise with my mom, your mom and Uncle Lou on the Potomac River. Hold tight to the memories of your mom’s strong, bright and positive light. Prayers for you and all of yours.
Hugs from Virginia!
