Elmer Patrick Flanders, 78, lifelong resident of Tyngsboro, MA died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family.
He was married to Marie J. Chasse with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 2, 2021.
Born in Lowell, MA on September 16, 1942 the son of the late Elmer W. Flanders and Marion (Gannon) Flanders, he attended Tyngsboro High School.
He was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalan Church of Tyngsboro, MA.
He worked as an automotive mechanic which he loved.
He had a great sense of humor, was an automotive enthusiast and loved the beach.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Robert Flanders of Tyngsboro, MA, his daughter Deborah and Douglas Anderson of Tyngsboro, MA, his grandchildren Crystal Mierzwa, Amanda McMahon and Michael Edgecomb, his great-grandchilden Hannah, Coltyn, Devan and Cartyr and many nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Dwayne Helliwell, Jr.
Visiting hour Tuesday, January 12, 2021 10 to 11 A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral service at 11 A.M.at the Dolan Funeral Home.
