Ethel Ann O’Hara, 100, of Chelmsford, MA, died Friday, December 16, 2022, at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late Martin J. O’Hara, Jr.
Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. Sullivan and Delia Reddan.
She graduated from Lowell High School, Lowell, MA, with the class of 1941.
In her younger years, Ethel worked at Tewksbury State Hospital and Castle Nursing Home in Tewksbury, MA.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Chelmsford, MA.
Ethel was a great conversationalist with an unsurpassed wit and always could spin an entertaining yarn of her childhood in Brooklyn, NY. She loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ethel is survived by her sons, Martin O’Hara of Chelmsford, MA and Sean O’Hara and his wife Patricia of Nahant, MA; her daughters, Ellen O’Hara of Chelmsford, MA, Patricia Dalimata of West Glacier, Montana, and Colleen and her husband Michael Clohisy of Dracut, MA; as well as 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters: Esther Horan, Margaret Drane, Veronica Hebert, Frances Lemire, Patricia Sullivan, Barbara Nyder, and Elizabeth Ready.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Visiting hours Wednesday, December 21 from 3-6PM at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, N. CHELMSFORD, MA. Funeral Mass Thursday, December 22 at 11AM at St. Mary’s Church, Chelmsford. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery Chapel, Lowell. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.
