Frederick Alan MacDonald, 78, of Lowell, MA, formerly of E. Hartford, CT died Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, MA.
Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph MacDonald and Mary Dorothy “Dot” (Durant) MacDonald Cooke.
He attended Brighton High School.
Frederick retired from Raytheon of Bedford, MA.
He was a member of Littleton Sportsman Club.
He loved photography, salt water fishing, selling sunglasses and T-shirts and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his longtime companion Mary Jo Serafini of E. Hartford, CT, former wife Maria (Desisto) MacDonald Parent, his daughter Anmarie and Timothy Whitcomb of Amherst, NH, son Glenn and Lisa MacDonald, brothers Robert and Maureen MacDonald of Bristol, CT, Daniel and Kathy MacDonald of Uxbridge, MA, Donald and Mary Cooke of Uxbridge, MA, and Jeffrey Cooke of Onset, MA. 4 grandchildren Sarah MacDonald, Ethan MacDonald, Luke Whitcomb and Sophia Whitcomb and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Kenneth MacDonald and Rodney MacDonald.

Visiting hours Tuesday, July 27, 2021 10 to 11 A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a “Celebration of Life” at 11 A.M. at the funeral home.
