Freida (Kaldis) Screpetis, 89, of Westford, MA died early Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus surrounded by her loving family.
She was married to the late John Screpetis, who died in 1969.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Panagiotis and Panagiota Kaldis. She graduated from Lowell High School
Freida worked at UMass Lowell for over 10 years as a secretary to the Dean of Engineering College. She had previously worked at Offset Printing in Lowell.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.
Freida enjoyed going to Foxwoods and the beach.
She is survived by her daughter, Evie and her husband, Larry Bearce of Westford; her son, Peter and his wife, JoAnn Screpetis of Dracut, MA; a daughter in-law, Karen Screpetis of Westminster, VT; a brother, William Kaldis of OH; a sister, Helen Scarmeas of Chelmsford; several nieces and nephews and her extended family.
She was the mother of the late Stephen Screpetis, who died April 18, 2007 and the late Arthur Screpetis, who died Dec. 18, 2009, and the sister of the late Peter and Nicholas Kaldis, the late Joyce Passias, the late Jennie Vlacheas and the late Alice Hollis.
Visiting hours Mon. 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Tues. at 10AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Service at 11AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials may be made in her name to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 34 Lewis St. Lowell, MA 01854 or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
