St. John The Evangelist
Geraldine Lenore Marchand, 81, of Lowell, and formerly of Dracut, died Friday, April 12, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late Joseph A.R. Marchand, who died on July 19, 1982.
Born in Nashua, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Juliette (Camp) Van Dinter She graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont, NH with the class of 1960.
She retired from Genuine Auto Parts of Wilmington and previously worked at Byam Bros Insurance Agency
She was a communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland of Lowell and St. John the Evangelist of N. Chelmsford Parishes.
She was a member of the Lowell Lions Club and she enjoyed reading, crocheting, going shopping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Christine and her husband, David King of Dracut MA, and Melissa Phillips of Nashua, NH; three brothers, John and his wife Barbara Van Dinter of Chelmsford, Dennis and his wife, Linda Van Dinter of Deerfield, NH, William and his wife, Lisa Van Dinter, of Lowell, MA; a sister, Juliette Geoffroy of Lowell, MA, four grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife, Christina Phillips, Brianna Phillips, Jon King and Christian King; two great grandchildren, Winter Kliska and Kaden Phillips, her God-son, Douglas Jeffrey as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Robert, Richard and Michael Van Dinter, and the longtime companion of the late Robert Lafferty.
At Geraldine’s request there will be no visitation. Her Funeral Mass will be Fri., April 19, 2024 at 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O.
