Gerard “Jerry” Vincent Morrison, Jr., 74, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, Bedford, MA. He was surrounded by the love of his family and the gratitude of a nation he proudly served.
He was married to Joan (Trovato) Morrison with whom he would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on this upcoming April 23rd.
Born in Cambridge, MA, Jerry was the cherished son of Gerard Vincent Morrison Sr. and Barbara Stynes Morrison. He graduated from Bedford High School with the class of 1967.
After high school, Jerry dedicated several proud years to the United States Navy, serving his country with honor and commitment. Following his military service, he immersed himself in the local community, working as an auto mechanic in town. Jerry’s skilled hands and tireless work ethic endeared him to those he worked with and served.
Jerry had a passion for the open road, finding joy and freedom on his beloved motorcycle. Weekends were often spent at various bike rallies, particularly enjoying the popular Sturgis Rally held annually in South Dakota. He took a bike trip by himself to Key West, and most of all, shared camaraderie with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.
His favorite foods included cheeseburgers, ice cream, and pizza, and he loved his mother-in-law’s lasagna. He found pleasure in the simple joys of life.
Jerry is survived by his brothers Kevin Morrison and his wife Sue Morrison of Chelmsford, MA; Michael Morrison of Chelmsford, MA; Charles Morrison of Acton, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of his late sister Joann Morrison of Acton, MA.
Jerry will be remembered for his service, his sense of adventure, and the warmth he brought to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
