Grace Rita McCallum, RN

Grace Rita McCallum, RN, 96, of Tewksbury, MA passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill, MA.

Born June 3, 1925 in Billerica, MA she was the daughter of the late Katherine Kennedy and Howard Dyment.

Grace graduated from Lowell High School in 1944, where she was a member of the girl officers. During WWII she attended Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing as a CadetCorp nurse. She worked at many area hospitals and spent most of her career caring for elderly veterans at the Bedford VA Hospital.

Grace loved to visit family and friends especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Florida every winter, was a golfer, crocheted Afghans as gifts, and loved to play cards. She was a great dancer, usually the first on the dance floor with her husband. She had a great sense of humor and was never shy about sharing her opinion .

Grace was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald R. McCallum and her beautiful daughter, Patricia A. Maglio. She is survived by her sister, Pauline Silva of Boynton Beach, FL, daughters Donna Gale of Hampton, NH, Linda Moore of Pelham, NH, 9 grandchildren , 15 great- grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephew.

Grace also leaves behind many great friends at Heatherwood Residence in Tewksbury where she made her home for the last eight years.
