Harold Joseph Newell Jr.,72, a longtime resident of Westford, died April 20, 2018 after a long illness at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lowell on April 12, 1946 the son of the late Harold Newell Sr. and Alice (Stacy) Newell, he was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1964. He attended Northeastern University.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
He retired from Fidelity of Merrimack, NH. Previously he worked at McCormick and Dodge of Southboro, MA.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and photography. Harold was an avid animal lover.
Harold is survived by his cat Winston Churchill, and his siblings and their spouses, Henry and Alice Newell of Ogunquit, ME, Carole Malarkey of North Chelmsford, Dorothy and Roy McGaunn of Belmont, NH, Francine and Dana Rodricks of Lowell; many nieces and nephews.
He was the Brother of the late Ruth Martel and Frances Newell.
Visiting hours Tuesday. 9 to 11 A.M. Funeral Tues. at 11AM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Burial in Edson Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials may be made in his name to the Lowell Humane Society 951 Broadway St. Lowell MA 01854. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.
