Hazel J. (Cann) Butler Mansfield, 93, of Tyngsboro, formerly of Chelmsford died Thursday July 2, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH.
She was the wife of the late Raymond Mansfield who died in 1977 and the late Melvin Butler.
Born in Chelmsford, MA on March 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Nora Cann. A resident of Chelmsford for fifty years, Hazel graduated from Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1940.
Hazel worked in shipping /receiving dept. of Baxter International in Bedford, MA for many years before retiring in 1987. She previously worked as an assembler for Raytheon, CBS in Lowell and Sperry-Rand Corp.
Hazel lived in Tyngsboro for the last forty years where she was a member of the Tyngsboro Senior Citizens Club. She also was a member of the Chelmsford Senior Citizens Club where she did a lot of volunteer work. She loved square dancing and was a member of the Alpine Squares. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. In her early years she enjoyed bowling in the Chelmsford League.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Eno of Henderson, NV and Eleanor Garboski and her husband, Dennis of Bedford, NH; five grandchildren, Laurel Wiig, Dennis Garboski Jr, Jeffrey Eno, Christopher Eno and Jennifer Baronowski; 6 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Douglas Butler who died Jan. 19, 2007 and her two brothers, Warren and Frederick Cann.
Visiting hours Tuesday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. in the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD,MA. Private Burial in the Hart Pond Cemetery, Chelmsford.
