Jackie Scharn, 79, of Hudson, NH, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital after a hard fought battle against COPD and bone marrow cancer.
She was married to Robert “Bob” Scharn with whom she would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 11th of next year. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late John Killam and Frances (Bowser) Hudson. She graduated from Westford Academy with the class of 1961.
Jackie and her family owned and operated The Town Meeting Restaurant for 17 years where she touched the lives of her customers and staff alike, even keeping in touch with many long after the restaurant’s closing. After the restaurant, Jackie went on to work at Subaru of Nashua where she made lasting connections with many of her colleagues.
Jackie had a great love for her home on Lake Winnipesaukee. Over the years Jackie and Bob always had an open door for family and neighborhood friends. While living on Lake Winnipesaukee she grew very close to her neighbors Dan and Denise Enxing whom became life long friends, but really more like family. Jackie also enjoyed trips to the Bahamas and Mohegan Sun. She enjoyed playing many card games and was known to be a great poker player.
Her family remembers her as a loving person who would never speak ill of anyone. She was very outgoing and enjoyed talking to everyone. Jackie was a caring and hardworking mother who always put her family first. Her children will especially remember her cooking and the love that she put into every meal.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Tracy Braff and her husband Eric Braff of Salem, Oregon, her daughter Heidi Scharn and her significant other Scott Dinnigan of Chelmsford, MA, and her son Jason Scharn and his wife Deana Scharn of Hudson, NH. She was also survived by her brother John Killam of Chelmsford, MA, her sister Deborah Mair of Texas, her sister-in-law Elaine Hogan of Deerfield, NH, brother-in-law Eric Scharn of Clearwater, FL, and late sister-in-law Allyson Coulombe of Nashua, NH. Additionally, her four grandchildren; Brendon Braff and his wife Rachel Braff of Salem, Oregon, Kraig Scharn of Chelmsford, MA, Adam and Alyssa Scharn of Hudson, NH. Furthermore, she leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Rylee, Beckett, Hazel, and August Braff, as well as many nieces and nephews.

My friend. Jackie was the first person to know I was pregnant with my daughters. She was there for me for years. Selfless, caring, enduring. She inspired me to be more humble and tolerant.
My deepest condolences to Jackie’s amazing family.

Bobby and family: I was stunned to see that your loving “Jackie” had passed at such an early age. I will always remember the great times that we had at the “Chelmsford Meeting House” with my mom and dad (Pat and Betty). I know that my father had a really great liking for you Bobby. I will definitely be at the “Princeton” for your wonderful Jackie’s celebration of life. Until then, you will all be in my prayers. Your good friend from the past, Ed Ciampa.
