James Quealy, 90, of Chelmsford died Sunday March 15, 2015 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford.
He was the husband of Janice (Strobel) Quealy with whom he would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary of Sept. 29th.
Born in Lowell, MA, he was a son of the late James and Annie Quealy. He graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1943.
During World War II, he served in the US Army attaining the rank of Tec 3.
James worked as a Clerk at Gillette of Andover for many years before retiring in 1995. He previously had worked for the Boston & Maine Railroad. He enjoyed reading.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Lowell.
Besides his wife, He is survived by a son, Mark Quealy of Chelmsford; a daughter and son in-law, Maureen and Kevin Nelson of Richmond, VA; a sister and brother in-law, Mildred and James Perry of Foxboro, MA; three grandchildren, Adam Nelson of Raleigh, NC, Katie Nelson of Raleigh, NC and Eric Nelson of Houston, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Jalbert of Lowell.
There are No Visiting hours. Family and friends are invited to the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, MA. Thursday at 9:00 a.m. His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret’s Church 374 Stevens St. Lowell, MA. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. For those that wish, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Margaret’s Church Building Fund.
