Janice A. Quealy, 96, of Chelmsford, MA passed on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late James J. Quealy who passed on March 15, 2015.
Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Richard Strobel and Ella (Steinert) Strobel.
Janice graduated from Lawrence High School, Lawrence, with the class of 1944. She is a graduate of St. John’s Nursing School in Lowell.
Janice assisted the Armed Forces as a nurse post WWII. She retired from St. John’s Hospital in Lowell in 1991. Prior to that she worked at Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen, MA.
She was a communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland in Lowell.
She enjoyed many activities at the Chelmsford Senior Center, as well as knitting, crocheting, and sewing.
Janice is survived by her son Mark Quealy and his companion Leslie Vodzak of Pepperell, MA; her daughter Maureen Quealy Nelson and her husband Kevin of Richmond, VA; her three grandchildren Adam Nelson, Kate Nelson, and Eric Nelson; her sister-in-law Mildred (Quealy) Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Richard Strobel, twin sister of the late Virginia Murphy, and sister of the late Joanne Ritter.
