Jeanne L. (Swallow) McAndrew, 89, of North Chelmsford, Loving Mother and Grandmother

Jeanne L. (Swallow) McAndrew, age 89, of North Chelmsford died at her home Monday August 31, 2015 after a long illness.

Jeanne was married to the late Robert F. McAndrew, also of North Chelmsford.

She was the daughter of the late George and Hazel Swallow. She was educated in the Chelmsford School system, graduating in 1944 from Chelmsford High School. She later graduated from Wilfred Academy of Hair Design.

Jeanne worked as a hairdresser at Pollards of Lowell. She also worked at Chelmsford High School Cafeteria, Robert Halls and Vesper Country Club. Most recently she worked as a Bank Teller at the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank.

She volunteered at the Food Pantry in Chelmsford. She was a lifetime member of the Chelmsford High School Alumni Association. She attended the Evangelical Congregational Church of Tyngsborough. Jeanne had been the financial secretary of North Chelmsford Congregational Church for many years.

Jeanne was an avid Boston Bruins Hockey fan. She enjoyed the Red Sox and the Patriots as well, but the Bruins were number one.

Jeannie is survived by her two sons and a daughter in-law, Rev. Dr. Robert F. McAndrew Jr and his wife, Phyllis, and Rev. Timothy G. McAndrew of N. Chelmsford; three grandchildren, Christopher McAndrew, Scott McAndrew and his wife, Liliana, and Mark McAndrew and his wife Kelly, all of Georgia; a niece, Nancy J. Hughes of N. Chelmsford and a nephew, Peter F. Delmore and his wife Diane of Lowell, MA

She was the sister of the late George N. Swallow III and the late Sallie L. Delmore.
