Leonard R. Maille of Chelmsford

     Leonard Robert Maille, 82, of Chelmsford, MA died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital.

He was married to Barbara A. (Kelley) (Orowitz) Maille with whom he celebrated their 51^st wedding anniversary on September 6, 2014.

Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Hector J. Maille and Kathleen C. Maille.  He attended the Lowell school system.

He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a seaman apprentice.

He retired from USCI in Billerica, MA in 1993.  Leonard previously worked at Educator Biscut Co. of Lowell, MA, Fiber Material and Murray Printing both of Westford, MA, and Tewksbury State Hospital.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of N. Chelmsford, MA.

He was a former member of the Chelmsford Elks.  Leonard was an avid golfer playing at Green Meadows in Hudson, NH.  He loved playing cards with his family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Alfred H. and his wife, Christine Orowitz of Elizabethtown, KY; a brother, Richard J. Maille of Lowell; two sisters, Patricia A. and her husband, Bruce Benoit of Pelham, NH and Kathleen Devlin of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Claire Maille of Hampstead, NH.  Leonard was also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as several close friends.

He was the brother of the late Hector J. Maille, Jr. of Hampstead, NH who died October 24, 1997, and the late Donna M. (Sullivan) Henley of Lowell.

Visiting hours Fri. 5 to 8PM.  Funeral Sat. at 8A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford.
