Joanne Lee Nicholson of N. Chelmsford, MA

Joanne Lee Nicholson, 69, of North Chelmsford, MA died Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital after years of courageously battling a long-term illness.

Born in the Queens borough of New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Elsie (Turner) Nicholson.

She graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1973.

For most of her life she was employed as an accountant and for many years she worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA.

A lifelong animal lover, over the years she cared for many dogs, parrots, and finches. She was particularly fond of her beloved Chihuahua Miguel and parrot Zack.

Her love for animals was only surpassed by the love she had for her precious grandson Lachlan.

She is survived by her son Brian Kinney of Dracut, her beloved grandson Lachlan Kinney, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Boland of Atlanta, GA and her sister Dana Nicholson of Gainesville, MO.
